I learned the ins and outs of running a virtual private practice when I assisted the founder of the company with a variety of tasks. I increased clientele when I made referral calls and successfully expanded the company's network. This success led to increased sales. I created content for the website when I wrote evidence-based articles for blogs. I used my SEO skills to write ad copy and overall increased brand recognition.

My main responsibility was to ensure residents received meals following the assigned therapeutic diet and texture modification to alleviate their medical condition. I worked alongside the registered dietitian and other health professionals to improve resident's quality of life. Residents and family members enjoyed communicating with me because I provided genuine care and quality nutrition education. I contributed to foodservice management operations by updating stock and inventory and completing temperature checks.

Although non-nutrition related, this position taught me key transferrable skills. I learned how to market myself to obtain freelance clients. I revised original published blog articles for a cybersecurity company to provide users with widespread information. I take pride in the fact that while this is an unfamiliar topic for me, I used my research skills and resourceful qualities to write articles that received praise from the CEO of the company.

My strong efforts as an enumerator for the 2020 U.S. Census contributed to proper distribution of funds for federal, state and community assistance programs and public services. I went door-to-door throughout various neighborhoods collecting confidential information through scripted interviews. I learned how to quickly establish rapport and how to work with non-compliant subjects.

The research lab's main mission is to identify effective behavioral interventions that prevent early onset of chronic, nutrition-related illnesses. As an assistant, I provided researcher's with thorough transcriptions and entered data to better analyze results and form conclusions. I completed fidelity checks to ensure interview protocols were followed and identify possible sources of error, leading to increased validity of results. I'm also a published contributor to the study "A Qualitative Exploration of
Factors that Influence Snack Food Consumption During Infancy.”

My work as a wellness resource attendant improved the mental and physical health and wellbeing of community members. I worked with a team to plan, promote and lead events and daily classes that brought focus to everyday wellbeing such as meditation sessions and nature walks. I also hosted "Thirsty Thursday," where I engaged community members in tasting smoothie recipes and informed them of the health benefits. I learned how to manage and market projects pertaining to health promotion. My strong voice and ability to communicate effectively with an audience led to increased event and class participation.
